All group fitness classes are FREE with your YMCA membership except for those designated on the calendar with a $. The classes with a $ are fee-based classes.
Classes are for members 12 and older. Classes designated as “Family” classes are open to members age 8 and up.
Classes with six or fewer participants are subject to cancellation.

Class Descriptions

ALL LEVELS

AerobicTone: Utilize the guidance of our Fit Coaches as you tone your entire body with special exercises for often hard to target areas.

Aqua Zumba: Do you love dancing but find the impact of of Zumba on land bothers your feet or joints? If so, try Aqua Zumba, a choreographed "party in the pool!"

Boxing Conditioning: Conditioning fitness including Boxing, Kickboxing, MMA, and Wrestling, Taught by Certified PT expert for all levels.

Belle Barre: A fusion of kettlebell and dance barre fitness; combining these two forms of exercise creates a full body conditioning. No dance experience is required.

Interval Toning: Want to tighten up your body and abdominal region to give it a smoother, leander look and improve your lower back health? This 45-minute class is designed to do just that.

Line dancing: Get movin’ with choreographed dances with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows. Line dances includes pop, country, swing, rock and roll, disco, Latin, and Jazz music styles.

Mindful Meditation: An opportunity for individuals to de-stress and find quality mental "down time." May use a chair or sit on floor.

Pilates/Standing Pilates: Welcome to Pilates! This mat-based workout is designed to improve core control, coordination, standing alignment & balance. Come join us to build strength from the inside out!

Power Sculpt: A full body toning and strengthening class consisting of a variety of exercises using hand-held weights, exercise bands, body weight and more. This is the perfect class for individuals wishing to sculpt their body.

R.I.P.P.L.E.D.: Resistance, Interval, Power, Performance, Low-impact, Energy, Dynamic, all wrapped up in a complete water fitness class.

Spin®: Cycling is a great cardio workout and is appropriate for all fitness levels. You can adjust your workout to match your personal level. Instructors will lead you on a ride designed to improve your fitness on a variety of levels - endurance, strength, interval, all-terrain & training. Remember to bring a water bottle & a towel. Consider taking Spin 101 to learn the basics, (1st Monday of each month) and join in on either 30 min Quick Spin or NEW Easy Does It 30 min Spin (beginning September.) See schedule for days and time.

Stability: this class has balance exercise for all ages and abilityes. Statistics support that balance greatly improves one's ability to stay mobile, improve bone density and reduce the risk of falls and broken bones. A must for all!

30-Minute Circuit Express: Want to tone your entire body on weight machines, need some guidance from a qualified Fit Coach and keep your workout short? This circuit class is perfect for you. Arrive any time during the designated time slot indicated on the schedule.

Trojan Fit Club: An experienced trainer will assist and motivate youth for a safe workout with weights and cardio equipment. Cross training will complement any sports training or fitness goals. For their safety, youth ages 12-17 must be cleared by a YMCA Fit coach before using fitness equipment on their own. Parental release required.

Water Aerobics: Have fun and improve your health while doing a variety of exercise movements in the shallow end of the pool. Participants are encouraged to work at their own fitness level.

WERQ®: The fiercely FUN dance fitness class based on pop, rock, and hip-hop music taught by certified fitness professionals.

Yoga: Let Yoga’s flowing movements sychronized with the breath soothe your mind & body. Let Yoga’s challenges build your strength and flexibility. All Yoga classes are taught by highly trained instructors to help with personal needs. See Yoga/Pilates Schedule for more details.

Yoga for Cancer Survivors: A gentle Hatha Yoga class for any survivor of cancer. Focus is on sstretching and strengthening postures using all the tools of yoga. Instructor also covers techniques for relaxation and meditation. Open to all levels.

Zumba®: It’s more than just aerobic dance and it’s better than traditional fitness. Zumba is a combination of Latin and international music choreographed with fun, dynamic dance and exercise moves.

BEGINNER LEVEL

Balanced Body: A chair fitness class including the use of hand weights and bands, speciall designed for wellness and socialization for the mature individual.

Chair Yoga Stretch: A gentle Hatha Yoga class using a chair as a prop for seated as well as standing postures.

Free Weight 101: Open for all members age 15 and up. Learn the basics of free-weight lifting such as bench presses and squats to ensure proper form and safety. Class will be conducted by our experienced Fit Coaches.

Jump Start in the Genesis Room: Supervision by a Certified Personal Trainer is provided in the Genesis Room for those who may need some workout advice or assistance.

SilverSneakers® Classic: The core group exercise class of the SilverSneakers® Fitness Program. A total body conditioning class offering exercises for the upper and lower body designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living (ADLs). Resistance tools and a chair for seated and standing support are used to increase the effectiveness of functional skills and abilities needed for independent living. Class includes seated and standing movements, resistance choreography using hand-held weights, elastic tubing and a SilverSneakers® ball, balance and coordination exercises, and recommendations for risk and disease management.

SilverSneakers® Splash: You don't need to know how to swim to enjoy this water class. Improve cardiovascualr endurance in a soothing environment. A SilverSneakers® kickboard is used to increase strength, stability, and balance in the water.

Spin 101: Recommended that all individuals attend at least one Spin 101 class to learn proper seat positioning, proper posture on the bike, techniques to prevent bouncing on the seat, and how to modify different moves on the bike. Call Donnette Lewis to schedule an appointment; 436-0531 x222.

Step Basics: Consider taking Step Basics prior to joining the class if you have never taken Step before. This Step introduction will make your Step experience more enjoyable.

Yoga 101: For new students to build a strong foundation of this ancient practice of yoga. You will learn the details of breath, alignment, and focus to guide you safely and with confidence to go to the next level class. Call Donnette Lewis to schedule an appointment; 436-0531 x222.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED LEVEL

Boot Camp: Interested in getting down to business for a great physical workout doing traditional exercises from the military and sports? Want a variety of different exercises so it doesn’t get boring? Want to see improvements in cardiovascular endurance, strength, power, agility, balance, speed, toning and body fat? If you answer “yes” to these questions, then say "yes" to Boot Camp and you will reap the benefits. Guaranteed to get your sweat on.

Step & Sculpt: Try this class if you love upbeat music, want to be challenged with a variety of Step choreograhpy, and want to flex your muscles. Light weights, bands and balls are used to add sculpting to your muscles.
