21st Century Community Learning Center Program – Afterschool and Summer Enrichment Programs

Most of you are aware the 21st Century grant has come to an end. Due to high demands and needs in the state of Georgia, the Albany Area YMCA was not awarded renewal. We are still eligible to apply again and will when  the application period opens.

I am so grateful for the opportunity the 21st Century grant gave me. As the Director for the past 3 years, I have formed irreplaceable relationships with the kids, parents, teachers, staff, volunteers, and administration. I have watched these kids grow and develop physically, mentally, and academically.  There are no words that come close to explain my gratitude and the excitement I feel when a kid recognizes me from across a parking lot and yells my name. There are no words to explain my gratitude to serve our community and have this experience be the best chapter in my life.

My sincerest THANK YOU to Mr. Kenneth Dyer, MLK Faculty & Staff, Dougherty County Transportation, 21st Century Staff, YMCA Staff, Volunteers, Parents, and the KIDS. I hope these kids have learned as much from me as I learned from them.

The Albany Area YMCA offers an After School Program and this year we will be offering bus transportation from MLK Elementary to Y. If you are interested in our Afterschool Program you can come by the main branch at 1701 Gillionville Road or call us at 229-436-0531.

I wish all of you a great school year.
